This policy applies to all clients, staff, volunteers, contractors, and anyone involved in
service delivery at Ngadhi Family Services.
3. Principles
Respect and Dignity: Clients have the right to be treated with respect and to receive
services in a safe environment.
Zero Tolerance of Abuse: Ngadhi Family Services has zero tolerance for any form of
abuse, neglect, exploitation, or discrimination.
Empowerment: Clients are supported to participate actively in decisions about their
safety and care.
Confidentiality: Client safety concerns and incidents are handled with confidentiality
and sensitivity.
Continuous Improvement: Safety practices are regularly reviewed and improved
based on feedback and incident analysis.
4. Client Safety Measures
4.1 Risk Assessment
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for each client to identify potential safety
concerns, including physical, emotional, environmental, and social risks.
Update risk assessments regularly and as circumstances change.
4.2 Staff Training and Conduct
Ensure all staff receive training in client safety, child protection, and abuse
prevention.
Promote professional and ethical behaviour at all times.
4.3 Safe Environment
Maintain safe physical environments for service delivery, including hazard
identification and management.
Ensure that equipment and facilities meet safety standards.
4.4 Incident Reporting and Management
Encourage immediate reporting of safety concerns or incidents by clients, staff, or
other stakeholders.
Follow established incident management procedures to investigate, respond, and
prevent recurrence.
4.5 Client Involvement
Involve clients in planning and reviewing their care to enhance safety and respect
their preferences.
5. Responding to Safety Concerns
All safety concerns and allegations of abuse or neglect will be treated seriously and
investigated promptly.
Where necessary, incidents will be reported to appropriate authorities in line with
mandatory reporting obligations.
Support and advocacy will be provided to clients affected by safety issues.
6. Confidentiality and Privacy
Client safety information is handled confidentially, with access limited to authorised
personnel.
Information sharing occurs only with consent or when required by law.
7. Monitoring and Review
Ngadhi Family Services regularly monitors safety practices through audits, feedback,
and incident analysis.
This policy is reviewed every two years or following significant incidents or legislative
changes.
